Basic beer making supplies

May 9th, 2010

It’s always good to have beer stocked in your fridge in case a couple of friends come over or if there is a great game showing on cable. Beer is the one that makes you only slightly drunk which is fine. But make sure that you don’t take too much.

There are some people who are so crazy about the beer that they make beer brewing a regular pastime in their life. And I don’t mean them making it a drinking hobby, but what they do is they brew their own beer. Interesting right? You can even change the taste of beer by adding different ingredients to it. With this method you can choose the amount of any ingredient according to your taste for example if you want to have more alcohol then you can add it or if you are weight conscious then you can reduce the amount of calories in your beer.

If you never tried earlier to make the beer, then here you have a chance to learn about its ingredients and method of making it. The first constituent that makes up the beer is malt. They are usually packed in a glass bottle or tin cans. The other important component that is required is the brewing kettle; it is used to make up wort. Also consider the capacity of the kettle. Choose the kettle that can keep the double amount of beer to the one you consume at a single time. It will be revealed to you once you learn it by experience rather than being told. The third important constituent is fermenter. After you finish making the wort on the brewing kettle, you then transfer all of it to the fermenter. The Fermenter is applied for the purpose to temporarily store the wort and in the mean while yeast is applied for rest of the work. It has normally has two forms of which one is composed from plastic and other from stainless steel. Some people use the plastic ones, but if you were to ask my personal opinion, I would strongly suggest for you to get the stainless steel one because with the plastic ones, the smell kind of sticks to it and that is just something that I can’t stand. The smell doesn’t get stick if you use the stainless steel and the same kind is used in factories also. Therefore its suitable for you as well.

These were the only major things that are employed in beer brewing. By the time when you will go for more exploration; more finishing will be added to your beer brewing process. Good Luck!
