My Funny, Cool Grandma
This month we visit my granny. I look forward to meeting her, even if she’s grown a little obstinate in her later years. I won’t embarrass her by sharing her years, but let’s simply say she’s a lady with thoroughly seasoned wisdom.
The last time I visited her I brought my Yamaha keyboards so I could perform some music for her. She enjoyed it, but regrettably since she’s not all there, she kept disrupting me to inquire of me how to clean her computer. Yes, she really uses a computer. And perhaps she was interrupting me because I am simply that bad at playing the keyboard.
I always discover something puzzling at her home when I see her. Last time, I observed several guides on penny stocks on her coffee table. My granny learning about trading penny stock? That is bizarre. I wonder what I will discover on her cocktail table this time.
This year will make for an active visit. I must put in her different Emtek door knobs and air conditioner filters then repair her garden cart. I also must bring her old pots and pans to charity because she recently purchased a fresh collection of pots and pans to supplant them. As a reward, she claims to also have bought one of the best ice cream makers and the very best of all the electic coffee makers. I’m thankful, yet I also have to laugh softly as she always claims to have or utilize only the greatest of this or that.
If all goes well, she’ll employ both to dish me some fabulous java at dawn and ice cream in the evening. That sounds like more than reward enough for my effort. I’m happy to help her out for nothing, but a little rich coffee and sweat ice cream doesn’t hurt.
