Rotate your memorabilia and display what’s in season
Small figurines as gifts are great for a while, but then they gather dust. You know, those tiny trinkets that folks get you and you set them all over your house to collect dust. I hate dusting all the tiny parts. I’ve a strict rule of no trinkets like that in my home.
My sister is different. She loves small trinkets, loves to collect a variety of things, usually fairly expensive, and she displays them in various beautiful wood wall curio cabinets throughout the house. I need to admit they are gorgeous and they do a fantastic job of highlighting whichever products she has out.
Some cabinets have the same items in them all of the time. Generally the crystal glasses which are even utilized during dinner parties. Other cabinets get their products rotated with the seasons. This appears smart to me. If it’s out of season it goes inside a box, in season items go into lighted cabinets to become on display. She actually does have a wonderful collection.
There are a variety of sizes and shapes for the cabinets she can choose from. It all depends on what needs to become featured.
The biggest complaint I would have is the cost. These cabinets are gorgeous pieces of furniture in themselves, but some of them are $700-$1500 and higher. However, if your collection is valuable to you there’s no reason to keep it boxed up, put them on display in something that’s worthy of their inherent nature.
